Sonipat's industrial areas are picking up newer kinds of manufacturing: electric vehicle parts, battery pack assembly, electrical goods and warehouses storing electronics for the Delhi market. The universities around Rai also run electronics and physics labs. In all of these, static discharge can damage components, corrupt test results or, in some battery and chemical areas, create an ignition risk. An antistatic or ESD floor is part of controlling it.

Battery and EV component assembly

Lithium battery packs, battery management systems and motor controllers contain sensitive electronics. Assembly areas for these products usually need static dissipative floors so operators don't carry charge onto the parts they handle.

Some battery processes also involve solvents or flammable electrolytes. Where there's a risk of flammable vapour, the requirement may shift towards a conductive floor with a lower resistance range. We ask about your process and hazard assessment before recommending a system, rather than assuming one type fits everything.

Electronics warehouses

Warehouses storing boards, modules and devices are often overlooked. Stock is generally protected in ESD packaging, but it gets opened for inspection, kitting and returns processing. A static dissipative floor in those zones, together with footwear control, closes a gap that many ESD programmes leave open.

University and research labs

Electronics, physics and materials labs in Sonipat's universities use ESD floors for teaching and research benches. Labs have their own constraints: work has to fit around the academic calendar, benches are fixed, and the floor must also resist occasional chemical spills. We plan these jobs for semester breaks.

What goes into the floor

LayerPurpose
Prepared and primed slabSound base with good bond
Copper tape gridCarries charge to earthing points
Conductive primerConnects the whole surface to the copper grid
ESD epoxy or PU finishWearing surface with controlled resistance
Earthing connectionLinks the floor to building earth (by your electrician)

After installation, we test resistance at points across the room and give you the readings.

Dry winters and static

Haryana winters bring very low humidity, and static problems increase noticeably from November to February. A properly built ESD floor doesn't rely on humidity to work, unlike topical antistatic sprays and treated mats that lose effectiveness in dry air. That is one reason permanent floors are worth it in this region.

New sheds and slab checks

Many Sonipat plants are in newly built sheds. ESD floors are resin systems, and like any resin floor they need a slab that has cured and dried enough. We test moisture before fixing the installation date. Starting too early risks blistering, and a damaged ESD floor also loses its electrical continuity.

FAQs

Does an ESD floor work without special shoes?

No. People need ESD footwear or heel grounders so charge can flow from their body through the floor to earth. Ordinary shoes insulate them.

Can the floor be installed before the production line arrives?

That is the best time. It is easier to lay the copper grid and finish cleanly in an empty room, and testing is simpler too.

What happens if the floor is damaged later?

Damaged areas can be repaired with the same ESD system. The repaired area should be retested to confirm the resistance is still in range.
