Lucknow's outskirts have filled up with warehouses serving e-commerce, FMCG and pharma distribution across central Uttar Pradesh. Inside the city, malls, schools, colleges and government buildings have large service corridors, stores and basements with plain concrete floors. Different buildings, same problem: concrete that keeps producing dust. A densifier treatment, with or without polishing, is often the simplest fix.

E-commerce and FMCG warehouses

E-commerce warehouses have especially demanding floors. Pickers walk long distances, trolleys and pallet trucks run all day, and returns and packing areas handle products outside their boxes. Dust on packages leads to customer complaints, and a dusty floor makes the building feel poorly run during client visits.

A ground, densified and lightly polished floor:

  • stops dust at the source
  • stands up to constant wheeled traffic without a coating to wear through
  • brightens large buildings, making picking and packing easier
  • is easy to clean with ride-on or walk-behind scrubbers

Mall service areas and basements

Malls usually have finished floors in customer areas and bare concrete in service corridors, loading bays, stores and some basement areas. Densifying these areas reduces dust carried into the mall, makes cleaning easier and improves how back-of-house areas look during inspections.

Schools, colleges and government buildings

Institutional buildings in Lucknow often have long corridors, halls and stores with worn concrete or cement flooring. Densifier and polishing can refresh these floors without the cost and disruption of new flooring, and work can be done during holidays.

The treatment process

  1. Survey. We check slab condition, joints, cracks and existing coatings.
  2. Grinding. Weak surface and contaminants are removed, to the level of finish chosen.
  3. Repairs. Cracks, joints and damaged areas are filled.
  4. Densifier. It is applied and allowed to penetrate and react.
  5. Honing or polishing. Optional, depending on the finish wanted.
  6. Guard coat. For stain resistance and easier cleaning.

Where densifier isn't suitable

  • Food processing and wet areas. These need a sealed, hygienic resin floor.
  • Chemical areas. Acids and many chemicals will damage densified concrete.
  • Pharma GMP areas. Warehouses can be densified, but production rooms need resin flooring.
  • Very weak or damaged slabs. These may need repair or a topping first.

Monsoon and new warehouses

Densifiers are water-based and breathable, so they can be applied to slabs with some residual moisture, unlike many coatings. That makes them useful for new warehouses that need dust control quickly. Standing water must be removed first, and the floor needs to be clean.

FAQs

Can a newly built warehouse be treated before racking goes in?

Yes, and that's the easiest time. We can treat the whole floor before racking and stock arrive.

Will a densified floor be slippery for pickers?

A clean honed or polished floor gives good grip in dry conditions. Wet or dusty floors are more slippery, so regular cleaning helps.

How long does a large warehouse take?

It depends on area and finish. Large floors are done in zones over several days or weeks while operations continue.
