EPU flooring in Agra

Agra's summer sun is hard on floors inside buildings, not just outside. Footwear factories and warehouses often have skylights, clear roof sheets and large doors that let sunlight fall directly on the floor for hours. Standard epoxy yellows and fades in those patches, and the heat makes the slab expand and contract every day. The result is a patchy, cracked floor after a couple of summers. EPU flooring, an epoxy-polyurethane hybrid, handles sun and heat far better.

Sunlight on indoor floors

When sunlight passes through a skylight or open shutter, the floor below gets a concentrated dose of UV and heat. With standard epoxy, those patches:

• turn yellow or amber
• fade line markings
• get noticeably hotter than the rest of the floor
• can develop fine cracks from repeated heating and cooling

EPU's polyurethane content makes it much more colour stable under UV, and its flexibility helps with thermal movement. For very sunny areas, we finish with a UV-stable topcoat.

Footwear factories

Agra's footwear units have cutting, stitching, lasting and finishing sections with different floor needs. EPU works well across most of them:

1. Cutting: handles dropped knives, lasts and heavy material rolls
2. Stitching and assembly: easy to sweep thread and leather scraps, comfortable for workers
3. Finishing: resists common adhesives and cleaners in normal use
4. Stores and dispatch: handles trolleys and keeps dust off boxed shoes

Where adhesives and solvents are used heavily, we check their compatibility and may recommend a more chemical resistant topcoat in that zone.

Warehouses

Warehouses storing footwear, handicrafts and consumer goods benefit from a floor that stays bright, dust-free and colour-consistent from the dock doors to the back wall. EPU's resistance to wear and tyre marks suits pallet truck traffic.

Installation in Agra's heat

Resin floors don't like very hot slabs. On a scorching afternoon, the material sets too fast, traps bubbles and doesn't level properly. In summer, we:

• lay coats early in the morning or in the evening
• shade skylights where possible during application
• keep materials cool before use
• mix smaller batches

The best months are October to March, but with care, work is possible year-round.

• Standard epoxy: lower cost, but yellows under sunlight
• EPU hybrid: colour stable, tougher, more flexible
• Epoxy-PU hybrid WB: water-based version, lower odour
• PU self levelling: smoother and softer, suited to showrooms and clean rooms

FAQs

Our epoxy floor turned yellow under the skylights. Can EPU go over it?

Usually yes. The old epoxy is ground, loose areas repaired, and EPU applied with a UV-stable topcoat.

Will EPU fade in direct sun?

It resists fading much better than standard epoxy. A UV-stable topcoat gives the best result in very sunny areas.

How long does a factory hall take?

It depends on size and repairs. We phase larger halls so production continues.
