In most Baddi pharma plants, the production rooms get the best floors. The wash areas, CIP rooms, utility spaces and liquid preparation rooms often end up with tiles or a basic coating that fails within a year or two. These are the rooms where hot water, steam and cleaning chemicals hit the floor hardest. PU concrete is the right floor for them, and it also suits the FMCG food and beverage lines in the BBN belt.

Pharma areas that need PU concrete

Equipment and tank wash areas. Hot water, steam and detergents are used all day, so the floor has to handle thermal shock and drain quickly.

Liquid, syrup and ointment preparation. Spills of sugar solutions, oils and active ingredients are followed by frequent washdowns.

CIP and utility rooms. These get caustic and acid cleaning solutions, plus hot pipes and condensate.

Autoclave and sterilisation areas. There is heat and moisture around the equipment.

For dry production rooms and packing areas, PU self levelling flooring gives a smoother finish that suits cleanroom classification better. Many plants use both, with a planned transition between them at doorways.

FMCG and food lines

Baddi also has food, beverage and personal care plants. Juice and dairy lines, cooking areas and bottling halls use PU concrete for the same reasons as food plants anywhere: resistance to organic acids, hot water and caustic cleaners, plus a jointless surface that passes hygiene audits.

Designing for GMP

For pharma clients we plan each wet room as a whole, not just the floor:

  • Falls towards stainless steel drains so no water stands
  • Coved skirting between floor and wall, finished smoothly for cleaning
  • Coves around equipment plinths and pipe penetrations
  • Anchor grooves at drains, doors and edges
  • A clean transition to the adjoining room's floor system

We can provide material data sheets and batch information for your validation or change control documentation.

Monsoon and slab moisture

Baddi's monsoon is long and heavy, and slabs in newer plants built on filled ground can stay damp. PU concrete tolerates higher slab moisture than epoxy or PU self levelling systems, within the manufacturer's limits. That makes it a practical choice for ground-floor wet areas. We still test every slab before laying.

Shutdown planning

Most of our Baddi wet-area work is done during planned shutdowns. PU concrete's fast cure helps fit the work into short windows. We agree the room sequence with your engineering and QA teams, so critical rooms are finished first and cleaned before production restarts.

FAQs

Can PU concrete be used in a GMP wash area?

Yes. It is commonly used in pharma wash areas because it handles hot water and chemicals and has a jointless, coved finish. Confirm specific requirements with your QA team.

How long does a wash room take during a shutdown?

A typical wash room can be broken out, prepared, laid and cured in a few days. We give an exact plan once we have seen the rooms.

Do you work in Barotiwala, Nalagarh and Parwanoo?

Yes. We work across the BBN area and nearby industrial towns.
