Dairies deal with milk and whey. Food processing plants around Parsakhera and CB Ganj wash their floors with hot water every day. PU concrete is built for floors like these, where heat, sugar, acids and water would ruin ordinary concrete or tiles.
Molasses and syrup are acidic and sticky, and they weaken concrete as they soak in. Around boiling pans, the floor also gets heat and spills of near-boiling liquid. Workers scrape off cooked-on residue, and then the whole area is washed down.
PU concrete at 9 mm handles the heat and scraping in these areas. It seals the surface so sugar can't soak in, and its texture keeps the floor safer to walk on when sticky or wet. We lay it to fall towards drains so washdown water leaves the area quickly.
Milk, curd and paneer units need floors that resist lactic acid, hot water and caustic cleaners. These are the conditions in which concrete and ordinary coatings fail fastest. PU concrete in processing and wash areas, with coved skirting at walls, gives a hygienic floor that holds up to daily cleaning.
Rice, flour and pulse processing is mostly dry and doesn't need PU concrete. The wet parts of food plants do: cooking, soaking and washing areas. So do hospital, college and hostel kitchens in the city, where heavy vessels, hot water and nightly washing wear out tiles quickly.
Some plants in Bareilly are in older buildings with slabs that pick up moisture in the monsoon. PU concrete tolerates damper concrete better than most resin floors, which is one reason it suits these sites. It still needs sound concrete to bond to, though. Crumbling or syrup-soaked concrete is broken out and rebuilt first.
The floor cures quickly, and most areas can take foot traffic within about a day.
For dry warehouses, grain stores and packing halls with only foot traffic and trolleys, PU concrete is more than you need. A PU floor coating or concrete densifier costs much less. We'll recommend the cheaper option where it will do the job.
It is easier during the off-season, when process areas can be shut down. If work is needed during the season, we can do small sections at a time around production.
Properly laid 9 mm PU concrete handles hot spills well. Clean up spills regularly so thick layers don't bake onto the floor.
