Noida and Greater Noida are home to many food and beverage makers, from snacks, sauces and juices to ready meals. There are also central kitchens for restaurant chains and corporate canteens, nutraceutical and supplement units, and cold chain warehouses serving the whole NCR. The wet and hot areas of these buildings need a floor that survives heat, spills and heavy cleaning. PU concrete does that.

Food and beverage plants

Most food plants in Noida's sectors have a mix of floor conditions under one roof. We usually divide them like this:

  • Cooking, frying and processing areas. Hot oil, boiling water and steam. PU concrete at 9 mm.
  • Filling and bottling lines. Sugary and acidic spills, CIP chemicals. PU concrete at 6 mm, laid to drains.
  • Wash rooms for crates and utensils. Constant hot water. PU concrete at 6 to 9 mm.
  • Dry packing and stores. Mostly foot traffic and pallet trucks. A cheaper PU floor coating is usually enough.

Specifying each area properly saves money compared with laying 9 mm everywhere, and it avoids putting a thin coating where it will fail.

Central kitchens

Central kitchens cook huge volumes on tight schedules, often through the night. Floors see tilting kettles, combi ovens, pot washers and heavy trolleys moving constantly. PU concrete is the standard choice here, laid to falls with channel drains in front of the cooking line. Its fast cure also helps, because a kitchen that supplies dozens of outlets can't close for long.

Nutraceutical and supplement units

These plants often handle liquids, syrups and wet granulation, with strict cleaning standards. PU concrete works in liquid processing and wash areas. Dry powder rooms may need a smoother self levelling floor, and sometimes antistatic properties, so we plan room by room.

Cold chain warehouses

At blast freezer and cold room doors, floors go from well below zero to NCR summer temperatures in a moment. Rigid floors crack at that line. PU concrete handles the thermal shock. For chambers running far below zero, the slab must have proper insulation and underfloor heating to prevent frost heave. We check that before we recommend anything.

Working with new buildings

Many Noida plants are in new or recently built sheds. Slabs may be young and still holding moisture. Some PU concrete systems tolerate damper and younger concrete than epoxy can, within the manufacturer's limits, which can bring your production start date forward. We test and advise.

The installation

After survey and slab testing, we prepare the concrete by shot blasting or scabbling, correct falls, and set drains. Anchor grooves are cut at drains, doors and edges, and coves are formed at walls and plinths. The PU concrete is then laid with an anti-slip finish. Foot traffic can often return within about a day.

FAQs

Can PU concrete go down before equipment is installed?

Ideally yes. It is easier to form coves around plinths and lay continuous floors in an empty building. If equipment is already in place, we work around it.

Does PU concrete meet food safety requirements?

It is widely used in food plants because it is jointless, non-porous and easy to sanitise. Check any specific certification requirements with your QA team.

What colours are available?

Common colours are red, grey, green, cream and blue. Colours can fade under sunlight, but performance isn't affected.
