PU floor coating in Sitarganj

The SIDCUL industrial estate at Sitarganj, in Udham Singh Nagar district, has grown steadily, with food processing, packaging, plastics and engineering units, plus the warehouses that serve them. Many of these plants were built with plain concrete floors that are now showing their age. They dust, absorb oil and are hard to keep clean. On damp slabs we use a moisture-tolerant primer or an epoxy cementitious base, because a coating over wet concrete will blister.

Hot summers. Resin coatings set much faster on a hot slab. In May and June we plan application for early morning or evening so the coating flows out properly and doesn't trap bubbles.

Which units benefit most

• Food and beverage plants. PU resists food acids, fats and daily wet cleaning better than epoxy.
• Packaging and plastics units. Dust from concrete gets onto film and printed materials. A coated floor stops that.
• Engineering and assembly shops. PU handles oil, coolant and dropped tools, and can be marked into work zones.
• Warehouses. Dust control, pallet truck traffic and clear aisle marking.

If your process involves steam, very hot water or heavy steel-wheeled carts, ask about PU concrete instead. It is laid much thicker and handles thermal shock.

• Materials and equipment brought in a single mobilisation

The process

The floor is inspected and tested, then mechanically prepared by grinding or shot blasting. Cracks, damaged joints and oil-soaked patches are repaired. Primer is applied, followed by one or two PU coats and any line marking. Foot traffic can return after about a day.
