Epoxy-PU hybrid floor coating (water-based) in Sitarganj

Factories in SIDCUL Sitarganj run shifts around the clock, and the spaces around production are almost never empty. Offices, canteen seating areas, change rooms and training rooms are in use during every shift. When floors in these areas need renovation, a solvent-based coating means closing them and dealing with fumes spreading through the building. Our epoxy-PU hybrid WB, the water-based version of our EPU hybrid, lets these areas be coated with low odour while the plant keeps running.

For the canteen kitchen itself, with hot water and oil, PU concrete is better. For production halls with forklifts, the solvent-free EPU hybrid is stronger.

Combining with production floor work

Because Sitarganj is further from our Roorkee base, the most efficient approach is often to plan all floor work in one mobilisation:

1. EPU or other heavy-duty systems on production and warehouse floors, during a shutdown
2. water-based hybrid in offices, canteen and change rooms, during shifts, around the same time
3. any wall coating or repairs at the same time

One visit, one team and one set of material deliveries cover the whole plant.

Terai humidity

Sitarganj is humid for much of the year, and very humid during the monsoon. Water-based coatings dry slowly in damp air. We check humidity, use ventilation and fans, and allow more time between coats. Ground slabs can also be damp in the Terai, so we test moisture and use a suitable primer where needed.

Working during shifts

To keep offices and canteens usable:

• we coat half a room or one section at a time
• canteen areas are done between meal times or overnight
• change rooms are done in rotation so some remain available
• routes are marked so workers can move around the work area

Preparation

Floors are cleaned of grease and dirt, loose tiles and failing coatings are repaired or removed, cracks are filled, and the surface is lightly ground before priming and coating.
