Conditions that affect epoxy in Uttarakhand

Monsoon moisture. Most of the state gets a long, heavy monsoon. Ground-floor slabs stay damp for weeks, and epoxy over damp concrete blisters. Moisture testing before every job is essential here.

High groundwater in the Terai. Around Pantnagar, Rudrapur and Sitarganj, slabs can pick up moisture from below even outside the rains.

Cold in the hills. In hill towns, and in plains areas on winter mornings, epoxy cures slowly. Heating and longer curing times are sometimes needed.

Sun through openings. Standard epoxy yellows in strong sunlight, so floors near shutters and skylights do better with a UV-stable topcoat or an EPU hybrid.

Hill towns

Hotels, hospitals and schools in places like Mussoorie, Nainital and Rishikesh need practical planning. Materials may have to be carried up narrow roads and stairs, work has to fit around tourist seasons, and slabs in buildings cut into hillsides are often damp. We plan deliveries, test moisture carefully and schedule for the drier months.

It depends on the area. Stores and packing usually suit epoxy, while wet processing and GMP rooms need PU systems. We specify area by area.

Can epoxy be laid in the monsoon?

Inside covered buildings, sometimes, if the slab passes a moisture test. Otherwise a moisture-tolerant base or a later date is safer.
