Car park flooring in Delhi

Delhi's parking floors take a lot of punishment. Mall and office basements see thousands of cars a day, residential buildings park cars in stilt floors at ground level, and hospital parking never empties. Most of these floors start as plain concrete. Within a few years they are dusty, stained with oil, worn into ruts along the drive aisles and slippery on the ramps in the monsoon. A proper car park floor coating fixes all of that and makes the space look looked-after.

Basement car parks

Basements in malls, offices and hospitals have their own set of problems:

• Dust. Tyres grind the concrete surface into fine dust that settles on cars and gets pulled into ventilation systems.
• Oil and fuel stains. Leaks soak into bare concrete and leave dark patches that never clean out.
• Poor light. Dark grey concrete absorbs light. A lighter coated floor makes a basement noticeably brighter with the same fittings.
• Damp. Many Delhi basements have water coming through the slab or walls, especially after the monsoon.

We usually coat drive aisles and bays with a hard-wearing epoxy or PU system, add anti-skid texture where needed and finish with bay and direction markings. Damp basements are tested first, and where moisture is high we use a moisture-tolerant primer or cementitious base so the coating doesn't blister.

Stilt parking under apartments

Stilt parking in residential buildings is often open on several sides, so it gets rain, dust and sun. The floor is also where residents walk to the lift. A textured, easy-to-sweep coating with clear bay marking and pedestrian walkways works well, and it is one of the more visible improvements an RWA can make.

Ramps

Ramps need far more grip than flat floors. Cars brake and accelerate on them, tyres are often wet, and a smooth coating on a ramp is dangerous. We broadcast hard aggregate into the ramp coating to give a coarse, grippy surface. Ramps also wear fastest, so they get a thicker build.

Line marking and signage

A coating job is the right time to redo:

• parking bay lines and numbers
• direction arrows and lane markings
• pedestrian walkways and zebra crossings
• no-parking zones in front of fire exits and hydrants
• colour-coded levels or zones, which help drivers find their cars

Doing the work without closing the car park

Delhi car parks rarely close. We work in sections, often at night or on weekends, with barriers and signage so traffic can move around the work zone. Coated areas typically take foot traffic within about a day and vehicles after a few days, depending on the system and temperature. We give you the handover date for each section.

FAQs

Epoxy or PU for a basement car park?

Both are used. Epoxy is harder and more economical for enclosed basements. PU is more flexible and UV stable, so it suits open or partly open areas and slabs with fine cracks.

Will the coating hide tyre marks?

A mid-grey or light grey with a satin finish shows tyre marks less than a glossy or very light floor. Regular machine cleaning keeps it looking good.

Can you fix water coming through the basement floor?

Active leaks need to be treated first, usually by injection or crystalline waterproofing. Once the water is under control, we coat the floor.
