Most vehicle areas at SIDCUL Sitarganj plants are not car parks in the city sense. They are staff two-wheeler sheds, small car parks for managers and visitors, truck yards and loading docks. We get asked to "coat the parking" quite often, and our honest answer is that many of these areas don't need a coating at all. Some need concrete repair, some need a hardener, and only some need a coating. Choosing correctly saves a lot of money.

Two-wheeler sheds

At shift change, a two-wheeler shed at a large plant can be chaotic. Clear row marking and a pedestrian path make a big difference to safety. The floor itself often just needs repair and a hardener or a textured coating that stays grippy when muddy. In the Terai's long monsoon, a smooth painted floor under a shed can become slippery, so texture matters.

Visitor and staff car parks

These are the areas where a proper car park coating is worthwhile. They are often the first thing a visiting customer or auditor sees. A sealed, marked car park with clear signage looks organised.

Truck yards and docks

Loaded trucks and forklifts destroy thin coatings. Truck yards need the concrete itself repaired, with potholes rebuilt and joints sealed. Dock edges get epoxy mortar repair and, where damage is repeated, steel edge protection. Forklift routes inside the dock can take a heavy duty epoxy screed or a concrete densifier.

Terai weather

Heavy rain and high groundwater mean slabs can be damp, and open areas can't be coated in wet weather. Hot summers make resins cure too fast. We plan open-area work for dry months, test moisture, and apply coatings in cooler parts of the day.

Planning a distant job

Sitarganj is a longer trip from our Roorkee base. To make one visit count:

  1. send photos of each area, with rough sizes and the vehicles that use them
  2. we give an initial view of which areas need what
  3. one site visit confirms condition, moisture and quantities
  4. work is done in one mobilisation, zone by zone around shifts

FAQs

Do we need to coat our truck yard?

Usually not. Truck yards need sound concrete and sealed joints more than a coating. We would recommend repair instead.

What is the cheapest way to improve a dusty two-wheeler shed?

Repairing broken areas and applying a concrete hardener with clear marking is often the most economical option.

Can you mark safety walkways across the whole plant?

Yes. Walkway and zone marking can be done throughout the plant alongside the parking work.
