Uttarakhand is our home state. Kaizen Flooring & Developers is based in the Salempur Rajputan industrial area in Roorkee, so sites in Roorkee, Haridwar and Dehradun are close to our team and our material. Most of the state's industry arrived after the SIDCUL estates were set up. Haridwar now has a large cluster of pharma, FMCG and auto component plants, and Sitarganj and Pantnagar in the Kumaon plains have estates of their own. In the hills the work is different: hotels, hospitals, schools and homes that have to cope with rain, damp and cold.

Pharma and FMCG plants. Plants in Haridwar work to audit standards, so floors need to be seamless, coved at the walls and easy to clean. Most floor work has to fit into a planned shutdown. We work backwards from the restart date, including curing time, and share the schedule before starting.
Damp slabs. Ground floor slabs in the Doon valley and the Terai often hold moisture. Resin laid on a damp slab can blister, so moisture is tested first. Where it's high, epoxy cementitious flooring can be used as a moisture tolerant base.
Hill sites. Access is by smaller vehicles, weather windows are short and nights are cold. The work takes more planning, and the curing time is longer than in the plains.
Monsoon. Uttarakhand gets heavy rain from late June to September. Roofs and terraces are best done before or after it, while the monsoon itself is a good time to find exactly where a building leaks.
